Mattel, a leading toy company launch other dolls than other people. Unlike most fashion dolls, the characters may be inspired through the monster films and horror fiction. They are depicted as getting related to or may be offspring of famous monsters such as Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman.

Mattel has published a complete of six monster high dolls that are whole teenage kids of famed monsters and each has their own grotesque flaw that they have to deal with. Draculaura, daughter of Dracula; Laguna Blue, daughter of the Sea Monster; Clawdeen Wolf, daughter of the Werewolf; Frankie Stein, daughter of Frankenstein; and Cleo De Nile, daughter of the mummy, and Deuce Gorgon, son as in Medusa. These are offered as a set. Each doll displays benefits that connect her or him for the monster parent. Frankie Stein has stitches, Clawdeen Gorge sprouts fangs and ears, and Laguna Blue is adorned with fins. And, as formerly mentioned, each doll is accompanied by its suitable pet. For example, Draculaura cares for any pet bat, and Cleo De Nile features a pet snake.

Monster High Frankie Stein is the daughter of the infamous Frankenstein & his bride. She is describes as the 'new girl' of Monster High and according to her online bi, she is only 15 days old when she starts school. She has variety of stitches all over her body and has pale green skin. She has one blue and one green eye. She moreover has a couple bolts on her neck that can serve as electric conductor. Same as Frankenstein's Monster in the novel, she is highly athletic and agile, and even lands a spot in the 'fearleading' squad (even though her body parts, especially her hands, tend to fly off at the worst times). Frankie Stein comes with her pet called Watzit who is made up of all different animal parts. Watzit has been stitched together like her with all the best bits of household pets.

Monster High Draculaura is the daughter of Dracula. She's 1599 years old and still looks amazing! She comes with her own pet bat named Count Fabulous. Thanks to her vampire blood, Draculaura can't see her reflection in a mirror and has to use her umbrella to walk in the sun safely. She is a hemophobic, being unable to even say the word "blood" without feeling faint. She has pale pink skin, protruding fangs and her appearance is similar to Béla Lugosi in the 1931 film version of Dracula. She also has pointed, elf-like ears. She wears Victorian era clothing and her style closely resembles Lolita fashion. She is known to be poetic and she loves creative writing. She doesn't have a reflection like classic vampires. She comes with her own pet bat named Count Fabulous who dressed in a small pink jumper and large bow.

Monster High Clawdeen Wolf is the Werewolfs daughter. She has an African-American or Hispanic appearance and has wolf ears and protruding fangs. Along with her best friends Frankie and Draculaura, she makes up the central characters of the webisodes. She is known to have wild unbridled nature, especially when she sees the full moon. She often shaves and plucks excess hair that grows quickly over her body. She has a brother named Clawd who is the BMOC (Big Monster On Campus), but is only mentioned in the diaries that come with the dolls. Clawdeen is of the coolest ghouls in school with her trendy fashions, accessories and scary cute pet kitten called Crescent. She's hairy but still looks beautiful!

Monster High Lagoona Blue is 15 years old, the daughter of the Sea Monster. Her "odd quirk" is that she must stay near water so that her skin doesn't dry out but all that swimming in pools has turned her blond hair blue. Her visual apeal is akin to Gill-man at the 1954 movie Creature from the Black Lagoon. She has blue skin and long blond hair with blue streaks. She also has several fins, webbed hands and gills behind her ears. She speaks with an Australian accent. She is described as a jock and is the captain of Monster High's swim team. It's been stated she is nearer related to amphibians rather than fish. Seeing as she doesn't have a problem with breathing on land, it seems to be plausible. She has a pet Piranha named Neptuna. She carries him around in a fishbowl purse.

Other characters that appear on the website and in webisodes include Ghoulia Yelps, Holt Hyde and Jackson Jekyll. All of these characters are sure to appear as collectible dolls in the future.
